With area Mid-Winter Tournaments going on, the NFL Divisional Round, and more, there was plenty to discuss on Sportsvoice this week!

The Carterville Lions impressed last week with wins over Vienna and Herrin.  That earned them the Team of the Week award.  The Lions also earned the #1 seed at the Eldorado Holiday Tournament with those wins.  Matt Varney and Coach Shane Hawkins discussed the big win over Herrin and the top seed at this year's EHT on this week's podcast.

The West Frankfort Redbirds were selected as the Team of the Week after their Week 1 victory at Massac County in a dominant 26-7 victory.  Head coach Brian Beery spoke with Matt Varney about the win and how the program is looking this season.
