A farmhouse near Ava was destroyed by a fire on Tuesday morning.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Department says a two-story farmhouse was on fire near the intersection of IL Rt. 3 and the Keller Highway.

Firefighters from Ava and Campbell Hill were assisted by Ava Police and Jackson County First Responders.

The structure was completely destroyed. The owner of the home was not there when the fire broke out.
