A Herrin man is in custody after allegedly breaking into an elderly man’s home and stealing cash.
According to Herrin Police, 19-year old Austin Breault allegedly forced his way into an 85-year old man’s home on Sunday. Breault was wearing a mask and brandishing a knife, and robbed the man of cash at knifepoint.
Breault then forced the man to drive to a nearby ATM and withdraw more money.
On Monday, Breault was found by Herrin Police and was arrested.
Breault is charged with Home Invasion, Armed Robbery, Aggravated Kidnapping, and Aggravated Unlawful Restraint.
Breault is incarcerated in the Williamson Co. Jail, pending a court appearance.
