After some SIU students met with legislators earlier explaining their concerns about not receiving financial aid due to the budget impasse, SIU has announced that they will issue 6 million dollars in map grants next semester.

 

SIU issued the grants this semester but had discussed possibly holding off on giving the money out next semester.

 

SIU officials say that around 4,000 will students will be awarded this money in the spring semester.

 

Students can receive up to $4,720 dollars with the map grant.
