Despite the lack of state funding for the Monetary Award Program, John A. Logan College announced Tuesday that the college will be paying MAP Grants for over 400 students.

Interim Vice President for Student Affairs and Community Education Dr. Larry Peterson says officials decided to approve the award rather than charge the student for the PELL grant.

In all, over $250,000 will be paid out to the students.
