There is a new Police Chief in Carbondale.
Jeff Grubbs, longtime Interim Police Chief was named to the permanent post Tuesday afternoon by City Manager Kevin Baity.
At a press conference Tuesday, Grubbs laid out his vision for Carbondale Police.
“We’re going to make sure we have our enforcement priorities in line with those of the community, and with the members and the knowledge of the staff in the police department itself. That will be a focus on violent crime, career criminals, community hot spot policing, and community policing.”
A panel consisting of members of the community unanimously recommended Grubbs for the position.
