A former water clerk for the village of Crainville has been sentenced to prison time for embezzlement.

64-year old Linda Harvill pleaded guilty yesterday to theft over $10,000 and official misconduct.

Harvill resigned from her job after almost $71,000 was found to be missing.

The money which was missing came from village deposits over a two and a half year period starting in 2010.

Harvill must serve 48 months’ probation, as well as pay over $70,000 in restitution.
