A Marion man was sentenced to prison time for domestic battery. 44-year old David Marks pleaded guilty in June in Jackson County Court to one felony charge of domestic battery.

The incident occurred last February when Carbondale Police responded to the parking lot of a local business after it was reported that the victim was abducted against her will at her home. Two people reportedly helped the victim after hearing her cries for help.

Marks was sentenced to three years in a state prison.
