SIU Football has new playmakers that got to show off in their season-opener at BYU this past Saturday. Matt Varney and Coach Nick Hill talked about some of those new players and the team's upcoming game at Austin Peay.
Friday night Murphysboro boys' basketball coach Daryl Murphy collected his 600th career win with a 63-54 win at Massac County. Voice of the Red Devils, Matt Varney, met up with Murphy after the win to discuss the game and winning 600 games.

The Missouri Valley Conference is holding a two-day summer check-in teleconference with all 12 league coaches this week. On Monday, SIU coach Scott Nagy spoke to the media.
