CARBONDALE, Ill. (WJPF) – Police are investigating after multiple shots were fired in Carbondale.

On Sunday June 9, at 3:22am, police responded to the 900 block of East Grand regarding multiple reports of shots fired.

No injuries were reported, but officers located several vehicles that had been struck by gunfire. Officers learned a dispute that ended in gunfire had occurred at a gathering of known acquaintances.

At this time no suspect information is available. This is an active and ongoing investigation.
