COLP, Ill. (WJPF) – More drugs have been taken off the streets of Williamson County.
The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office says Roquecce “Rocky” Benjamin was arrested earlier this month in Colp on charges including possession/delivery of a controlled substance, possession/delivery of cannabis (30g-500g), and possession of drug paraphernalia. The WCSO says deputies seized cocaine, cannabis, drug paraphernalia, digital scales, and $16,241 in cash.
The arrest of Benjamin is the result of a sweeping narcotics investigation started by the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office in 2023. In January 2024, two men, Victor Hurd and LaShawn Walker, were arrested at a home in Colp on drug and weapons charges. In March 2024, Antoine Winston was arrested in Carterville on drug possession charges. The WCSO claims that all three men had ties to Chicagoland street gangs.
