Steffe is a transfer from Texas Tech. He did not play his freshman season last year and was on track for a redshirt season with the Red Raiders before leaving the program. Out of high school, he was considered a 4-star prospect by ESPN, Rivals, and 247Sports.
Steffe left the Texas Tech program in late December for “family reasons.”
Steffe was considered a top-15 player in Texas in the Class of 2023. His senior season at Frisco Memorial High School he averaged 18 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 4.3 assists.
He scored more than 2,128 career points at Frisco Memorial, a school record. Other career records include 3-pointers made (444) and free throws made (475). He also holds the school record for assists in a game (14) and three pointers made in a game (9).
Steffe is the second player outside of last year’s team to commit to new head coach Scott Nagy joining incoming freshman and 3-star center Jaheem Webber.
Steffe had several accolades in high school including being named a 2022 All-State Selection, 2023 First Team Dallas Morning News Team, and ESPN Top-10 in Texas.
