A shooting death in Cairo on Friday is under investigation by the Illinois State Police.

18-year old Marquad Harris of Cairo is accused of shooting 34-year old Christopher Nelson, also of Cairo.

The shooting occurred in the 600 block of Jefferson Avenue just before 9:30 pm Friday night.

Nelson was taken to a Cape Girardeau hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
