The Carterville Lions shocked Pinckneyville 25-22, 22-25, 25-19 Thursday night to claim the 2A Carterville Regional Championship.  Coach Nathan Emrick spoke with Dave McKenzie after the huge win and collecting the program's 32nd win of the season - a program record:

Herrin High School girls basketball coach Chris Roberts said Tuesday he is stepping away from his position after 5 seasons with the Tigers. Herrin finished 16-14 this season and captured the West Frankfort Mid-Winter Classic last month. Assistant coach Mike Mooneyham is also stepping aside:

The John A. Logan College baseball and softball programs received a large donation from the Harrison Bruce Foundation on Thursday morning.  The donation will go to the construction of a brand new player development center, located between the two teams' fields.  Matt Varney caught up with Vols baseball coach Kyle Surprenant after the check presentation.
