A Murphysboro man has been arrested as he was a registered sex offender living near a park.

42-year old Robert Hinson is listed as homeless on the state’s sex offender database. He was convicted of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a victim under the age of 13 back in 1996.

Hinson was arrested early yesterday at a home in the 2000 block of Logan Street.

Hinson is currently incarcerated in the Jackson County Jail.
