After a dominant 40-0 win at Harrisburg, the Murphysboro Red Devils proved deserving of their #1 ranking and retained the spot in Week 8 of the John A. Logan College Little Egypt Football Poll.
Carbondale and Sesser-Valier-Waltonville both tied for the #5 spot this week. That sets up a pair of Top 5 matchups in Little Egypt this week:
- #1 Murphysboro hosts #3 Carterville
- #4 Johnston City hosts #5 Sesser-Valier-Waltonville.
Harrisburg took the biggest tumble of the week, down four spots to #7 after being shut out last week.
SVW was the biggest riser, moving from #8 to #5.
For the first time in the Little Egypt Football Poll’s history, the Marion Wildcats have fallen out of the Top 10.
