On Friday, Williamson County Deputies were called to do a welfare check at a home north of Creal Springs due to an odor coming from the home.

Officers found a residence full of caged animals, and a floor covered in feces. The owner of the home, 51-year old Elisa Kirkpatrick returned while officers were checking on the residence, and was voluntarily interviewed at the Sheriff’s Office.

Kirkpatrick had reportedly been a veterinarian until 2014 when she lost her license. She told investigators that she continued to perform surgeries in her home, because she was not telling clients that she lost her license. According to investigators, Kirkpatrick was performing these surgeries in her kitchen.

Williamson County Animal Control was contacted and determined that the animals were in a life-threatening situation. At least one dog could be seen with bones exposed due to injuries. Williamson County Firefighters entered the home with bio-hazard suits, and found several deep freezers and bags full of dead animals.

In total, 41 dogs, 15 cats, two pigs, one bobcat, and several other animals were found. All of the animals that were rescued have been seen by veterinarians. Numerous charges are expected to be filed against Kirkpatrick after all the reports are completed.
