After an exciting game in Week 5 and a 32-28 win over St. Joseph-Ogden, the #3 team in Class 3A in Illinois, the Carterville Lions climbed over the Marion Wildcats to reclaim the #1 ranking in Little Egypt headed in to Week 6 of the season.
The Wildcats slipped to #2 after a 14-0 loss at home to Cahokia.
The Nashville Hornets had the biggest slide in this week’s poll, surviving a shootout with West Frankfort 48-42 in Week 5.
