The SIU Football team entered the season unranked in the national polls but have begun to gain respect in both the Stats Perform FCS Top 25 and the AFCA Coaches Top 25 polls thanks to a dominant 49-23 win over Austin Peay on Saturday night.

Earlier this week, the Stats Perform FCS Top 25 was released and the Salukis made their first appearance as a ranked team this season, gaining the #24 ranking.

On Tuesday, the AFCA Coaches Top 25 was released and the Dawgs climbed even higher to the #23 ranking.

The Salukis next head to DeKalb this weekend when they take on Northern Illinois at 2:30 P.M. on Saturday.  That game will be heard on 101.5 CIL-FM.
