CARBONDALE, Ill. (WJPF) – A Carrier Mills man has been arrested in connection to gunshots fired Sunday in Carbondale.

Carbondale Police say the shots were fired around 3:40 a.m. in the 600 block of East Park Street. No injuries or property damage were reported. By the time officers arrived, several vehicles and people were seen leaving the area. One pf those people, 31-year-old Kyle Day, was seen by police hiding a backpack undercar; a gun was found inside.

Kyle Day was arrested for the unlawful possession of a firearm and taken to the Jackson County Jail.
