A three- vehicle crash that occurred yesterday afternoon is being investigated by state police.

Outside sources say 2 semi trucks were headed north on Highway 51 in Union County. Another car heading south had struck the back of one semi, causing the car to lose control and hit the second semi truck.

One of the trucks ran off the road and overturned.

Reports state the authorities classified the crash as a serious personal injury accident.

The number of people injured during the accident has not been released.
