Cacsio-Hale

MARION, Ill. (WJPF) – Voters in Williamson County will have two choices for state’s attorney on the November ballot.

On Wednesday, First Judicial Circuit Judge Joe Leberman ruled that Democrat Marcy Cascio-Hale did fulfil all of the legal requirements to get her name on the ballot. Judge Leberman’s decision reverses a previous decision by the Williamson County Election Board.

Earlier this month, the Williamson County Republican Party filed two objections to the paperwork Cascio-Hale was required to file to appear on the ballot. The county board sustained one objection, but dismissed another.

The Williamson County Republican Party says they’ll appeal Wednesday’s ruling at the Fifth District Appellate Court.
