CARBONDALE, Ill. (WJPF) – A Marion man is behind bars after he was found  in possession of a stolen gun.

At about 5:40 p.m. Tuesday, Carbondale Police were called to the 700 block of South Lewis Lane after someone reported a man, sitting in a parked car, armed with a gun.

The man, Darius Estes, 34, was arrested on charges of Aggravated Unlawful Use of Weapons by a Felon, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, and being an Armed Habitual Offender.

The gun was reported stolen from Murphysboro.
