CARBONDALE, Ill. (WJPF) – Two people were arrested in Carbondale Saturday after drugs and a stolen gun were found in their vehicle during a traffic stop.
Just after 2:00 a.m. Saturday, Carbondale Police say they pulled over a vehicle for a traffic violation. During the stop, officers found a gun inside of the vehicle that had been reported stolen out of Tennessee and a large amount of marijuana.
The 25-year-old driver, Ricky Henry of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, was arrested for aggravated unlawful use of weapons, possession of a stolen firearm, and possession of cannabis. A 27-year-old passenger, Keenan Parson of Marion, was arrested on a charge of possession of cannabis and on an outstanding traffic warrant out of Jackson County.
Both men were taken to the Jackson County Jail.
