After the first week of the basketball, the Nashville Hornets have risen to #1 in the John A. Logan SI Basketball Coaches’ Poll. The Hornets went 2-2 in the first week of the season but competed in their two losses (48-41 to Columbia & 60-45 to Mascoutah).
Mt. Vernon dropped from #1 to #3 after their 3-1 opening week in the Metro-East Turkey Tip-Off.
Murphysboro entered the Top 10 despite not playing a game in Week 1 of the season.
