BROOKPORT, Ill. (WJPF) — The Brookport Bridge, which carries US 45 over the Ohio River and into Paducah, will be temporarily closed Wednesday.

The bridge is expected to be out of service from 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. for maintenance work.

The 10-span bridge carries approximately 4,200 vehicles across the Ohio River each day. It opened to traffic in 1929.
