John A. Logan College is facing a budget shortfall of close to $3.7 million, meaning their tuition rates will go up.
The cost at John A. Logan will rise $10 per credit hour, taking it from $99 per credit hour to $109 per credit hour.
The tuition hike was one of three budget measures approved by the board, including employee lay-offs and a retirement incentive plan.
Some proposals include a removal of the golf program for the 2015-2016 season, and a $100,000 reduction in scholarships and tuition waivers.
The board’s next meeting will be held at 7:00 PM on March 24 at the college’s Carterville campus.
