Firefighters in Murphysboro were called to a fire at a home Saturday night.

The fire took place at the corner of 6th St. and Illinois Avenue. The fire reportedly started at the back of the house. The homeowner and four children were inside the house, but were able to make it out safely.

The house is believed to be a total loss.
