A Murphysboro man is behind bars after a shooting at an apartment complex just before 1 pm Wednesday.

According to Murphysboro Police, 19-year old LaMarcus Spillers was taken into custody at the King-Wills apartment complex on North 7th St. 34-year old Thomas Watson of Chicago was flown to a St. Louis area hospital.

Spillers was charged with aggravated battery with a firearm, which is a Class X felony. Spillers could face anywhere between 6 and 30 years in prison.
