CARBONDALE, Ill. (WJPF) — A Carbondale man is behind bars on a number of gun charges.
Carbondale Police say Josten Denwood, 29, fired a gun on August 28 in the 700 block of South Lewis Lane resulting in property damage to a home.
On September 2, Carbondale Police Officers spotted Denwood traveling in a vehicle in the area of Main Street and Lewis Land and pull the vehicle over. Denwood ran, but was caught after a short foot chase. A handgun was located in the vehicle.
Josten Denwood was charged with Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Unlawful Use of a Weapon by a Felon, Resisting a Peace Officer, and Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm.
Denwood was taken to the Jackson County Jail.
