The Illinois State Police has taken charge of an investigation into a crash in which two people are dead and two others were injured in Franklin County.

The crash happened on IL Rt. 149 near the Big Muddy Bridge just after 10:30 pm last night.

Two people died in the crash, a third was taken to Herrin Hospital, with the fourth being flown to St. Louis. The names of the victims have not been released.
