SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WJPF) — New cases of COVID-19 in Illinois continue to fall.
Public health officials Tuesday reported 808 new cases and 17 additional deaths. The statewide test positivity rate is now at 2.1%, the lowest since the pandemic began. 49% of the state’s population is now fully vaccinated.
Public health departments in southern Illinois Tuesday reported 21 new cases and 1 additional death. The region’s test positivity rate remains at 1.8%.
Vaccines will be administered Wednesday at the Pinckneyville Columbian Club. The Johnson and Johnson and Moderna version will be available from 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
