A man is behind bars in the Williamson County Jail after a standoff yesterday evening in Johnston City.

The man, whose name is not being released, allegedly made several threats against officers who were there to execute an arrest warrant after a woman claimed the man had beaten her and held a pillow over her face the night before.

After the standoff continued for about four hours, a SWAT team entered the home around 9 pm, and the man was arrested.

Johnston City Police say the area where the standoff occurred is save to travel through.
