Two new members have been appointed to the Paul Simon Public Policy Institute Board of Counselors.
Retired Congressman Jerry Costello was the first person added to the board, telling reporters he considers the appointment an honor after working with Paul Simon in Congress.
The second appointment is Lance Trover. The Vienna native is the current Communications Director for Governor Bruce Rauner, a former Communications Director for Senator Mark Kirk, former deputy Communications Director for the National Republican Senatorial Committee, and a former Communications Director for the Illinois Republican Party. Trover was involved with the institute while studying law at SIU.
The board meets yearly to review fiscal performance, as well as making sure the board adheres to Paul Simon’s mandate of a bipartisan approach to the efforts of the institute.
