ST. LOUIS – Senior thrower Ricky Hurley has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Male Field Athlete of the Week for the fourth time in his career, the conference office announced Wednesday.

Hurley continued his strong start to the outdoor season with another quality showing at the Ole Miss Classic last weekend. In the hammer, the Fox River Grove, Ill., native finished second with a best throw of 64.18m/210′-7″. He also took third in the discus at 52.95m (173′-9″), which stands as the top mark in the Missouri Valley Conference.

Against the Valley, Hurley ranks first in the discus and hammer, in addition to being fifth in the shot put. Nationally, Hurley’s top mark of 65.23m/214′ in the hammer is the 17th-best mark in the NCAA.

The Salukis will be back on the track April 9-10 at the Tom Botts Invitational, hosted by the University of Missouri.
