PITTSBURG, Ill. (WJPF) — A Williamson County man faces multiple charges after a domestic disturbance led to a stand-off with police.
The incident started just after 6:00 p.m. Monday at home on Fowler School Road in Pittsburg when Billy Joe Williams, 46, had a fight with members of his family. Williams then got a rifle and began shooting at his family and at nearby buildings and vehicles. No injuries were reported.
When law enforcement arrived at the scene, Williams retreated into the home and refused to come out. After several hours of negotiations, Williams was taken into custody.
Williams was taken to a local hospital and then to the Williamson County Jail where he’s being held pending a court appearance. He faces charges of unlawful use of weapons by a felon, domestic battery, aggravated discharge of a firearm, and reckless conduct
