CHICAGO, Ill. (WJPF) — More than 1,000 students of the now-defunct Illinois Institute of Art will be getting refunds for their student loans.
The refunds are part of a settlement negotiated by the Illinois Attorney General’s office. To be eligible, borrowers must have received their loans between January and June 2018.
Attorney General Kwame Raoul says after losing accreditation in January 2018, the Illinois Institute of Art misrepresented itself as accredited for the next five months. The school went bankrupt in January 2019.
