CARBONDALE, Ill. (WJPF) — Two women are recovering after being shot while inside their car in Carbondale.

It happened around 3:00 a.m. Saturday in the 400 block of North Springer Street.

According to Carbondale Police, the victims were driving when their vehicle was blocked by at least one other vehicle. Multiple shots were then fired at the victims’ vehicle with both victims inside receiving non-life threatening gunshot wounds.

The victims were able to drive off and were later treated at a local hospital.
