Saluki Football will be without one of their key veterans whenever football begins once again at the FCS level. Safety Qua Brown announced on twitter Monday afternoon that he has made the decision to enter the transfer portal.
“Due to unprecedented times and where I currently stand in my career, I’ve decided to enter the transfer portal to give myself the best opportunity at living out my dreams, which is to play in the NFL,” said Brown in a statement.

Brown has been a key contributor in recent years playing alongside Jeremy Chinn, who was drafted by the Carolina Panthers this past April.
Brown had an injury-shortened sophomore season in 2018 in which he only played in 6 games (5 starts) but still finished 8th in tackles with 38 and was second only to Bryce Notree in stops per game with 6.3.
In 2019, Brown was selected 2nd Team All-MVFC. He ranked #5 in the country and #1 in the MVFC in solo tackles per game at 6.3, he had 105 total tackles on the year.
The Saluki secondary is left without much returning leadership as junior Joe Patterson becomes the Saluki with the most playing experience under Nick Hill with Brown entering the transfer portal.
