CHICAGO (AP) — State officials are again imposing restrictions in southwestern Illinois following a resurgence of COVID-19 cases.
Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker announced the restrictions Sunday, including limiting capacity at meetings and social events and closing bars and casinos at 11 p.m. The restrictions come after the region has seen three straight days of a positive test rate of 8% or higher.
The state’s current rate is about 4%. Illinois reported 1,562 new confirmed cases and 18 deaths on Sunday.
