SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WJPF) — The Illinois Department of Public Health announced 546 new cases of COVID-19 Wednesday, including 87 additional deaths.

In southern Illinois, new cases of COVID-19 were announced in Alexander (1), Pulaski (1) counties. Additional deaths were reported in Jackson (1) County.

Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 134,185 cases, including 6,485 deaths, in 101 counties in Illinois. The seven-day statewide positivity rate is 3%.
