SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (IRN) — Cannabis consumers buying legal pot in Illinois spent more than $34.8 million, buying over 831,000 cannabis products in the month of February, according to state regulators.

That doesn’t include the taxes consumers paid, which can be as high as 40 percent, depending on potency and other factors.

In January consumers bought nearly $40 million worth of legal weed and paid nearly $10.5 million in taxes for the first month of legal sales.
