A Carbondale youth reported missing earlier this week has been located and returned home safely.

Police requested help in finding 17-year-old Ayden Van Hook, who was last seen Tuesday afternoon in the 400 block of East Walnut Street.

Police said Wednesday night they learned Van Hook was located in Mt. Vernon and returned home.
