Carbondale Police have made arrests in the case of several fights taking place in the middle of the strip just after 2 am last Friday, which garnered attention in a YouTube video which has gathered around 22,000 views.

Several people were arrested on charges of resisting a peace officer. Those individuals were identified as Justin Haney, Joshua Jordan, Robin Kyles, Jalan Davis, and Juwan Owens. Out of that group, only Haney and Jordan are students at SIU.

Also during this time, one man was arrested after he was found to be in possession of a handgun. The man was identified as Danny Garner. Garner was arrested on charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm, aggravated unlawful use of weapons, and resisting a peace officer.

Carbondale Police are also requesting that anyone who made a video recording of the incidents to provide a copy of that video to help identify other individuals involved.
