CARBONDALE, IL. (WJPF) — The discovery of a single bullet was the cause of a soft lockdown at Lewis Elementary School is Carbondale.

It happened Tuesday morning when a maintenance worker found the bullet near a bathroom.

Carbondale Police were called in to help search the building, but did not find any weapons or additional ammunition.

According to Lewis School, a soft lockdown restricts students to their classrooms.
