MARION, IL. (WJPF) – There’s a new Chief of Police in Marion.

David Fitts, a former Williamson County Sheriff’s Deputy and Illinois State Police Trooper was unanimously approved by the City Council Tuesdnay night.

Fitts is a Marion native, graduating from Marion High School, John A Logan, and SIU.

His first full day on the job will be Monday.
