HARRISBURG, IL. (WJPF) — The murder trial of Brian Burns in Saline County has hit another delay.
A motion for Burns to first undergo a mental fitness evaluation has been granted.
Burns has pleaded not guilty to charges that he murdered his wife Carla and then burnt her body.
He’s currently serving twenty years in Menard Correctional Center for attempting to have Mike Henshaw, the late Saline County State’s Attorney who was prosecuting the murder case against him, kidnapped.
