WASHINGTON COUNTY, IL. (WJPF) – Two people have been injured in a two semi crash on Interstate 64 in Washington County.
It happened around 6:40 A.M. Wednesday in the eastbound lanes.
State Police say that 51-year-old Kevin Shaw of Marion was parked on the right shoulder of the interstate when he was hit from behind by another semi driven by 41-year-old Peter Gurdon of Sarasota, Florida.
Gurdon had to be cut out of the wreck. He was flown to a regional hospital with major injures. Shaw was taken by ambulance to a local hospital with minor injuries.
Eastbound I-64 was reduced to one lane for about 10 hours for crash investigation and scene cleanup.
