A Sesser man was killed Sunday night when he was struck by a tractor trailer on Interstate 57 in Jefferson County.

According to State Police, 50-year-old David Grayton was standing in the middle of the northbound lanes near the I-64 split when he was hit.

Police say the driver was unable to slow down before hitting Grayton.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.
