A weekend stabbing in Carbondale has landed a Valmeyer man in the Jackson County Jail.

According to a press release from the Carbondale Police Department, officers responded to the 200 block of South Lake Heights Avenue just after 1:30 Saturday Morning.

Officers arrested 23 year old Christopher Russell, of Valmeyer, for the unlawful use of a weapon as well as aggravated battery.

The victim was transported by ambulance to Carbondale Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
